How it works

From exposed to protected, in four steps

No lengthy setup, no technical know-how needed. Here's exactly what happens after you sign up.

Tell us who to protect

Add your name, current and previous addresses, and phone numbers — securely, in about five minutes. Couple and Family plans let you add household members too.

We scan the web for your data

GuardID checks thousands of data broker and people-search sites for listings that match your details, using name and address variations a manual search would miss.

We request removal — and verify it

For every listing found, we follow that broker's specific opt-out process and confirm the listing is actually gone, not just submitted.

We keep checking, for as long as you're a member

Brokers re-list old data over time. GuardID re-scans on an ongoing basis and removes anything that reappears — automatically, with no action needed from you.

What we cover

Where your data tends to live

Sites built specifically to let anyone search your name and pull up an address, phone number and household details — often the first result when someone looks you up.

Databases that resell contact details to marketers, resulting in unwanted calls, post and email — usually built from data you never knowingly handed over.

Sites that scrape and republish electoral roll, land registry and court record data in a searchable, name-linked format.

Common questions

Before you start

Yes. We're ICO-registered and only use your details to search for and remove matching listings — never to sell or share. See our About & Trust page for more.

No — once your details are added, scanning, removal and re-checking happen automatically. You'll get a monthly summary of what's been found and removed.

We escalate using the legal removal rights available under UK data protection law, and keep the listing flagged as "in progress" in your dashboard until it's resolved.
